The major duties of the Economist position include, but are not limited to the following:
-Provide recommendations for ways to refine economic survey questions, data analysis, and engagement and utility of SEM economic data to parks and programs; -Conduct economic data analyses including non-market valuation, input/output modeling, and econometric modeling; -Present economic results to park staff and other stakeholders; -Provide economic technical assistance to program offices and external parties in the use and interpretation of economic information. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-09/11 grade level, you must possess the following basic qualifications by close of the announcement:
Education:
A degree:
economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus. -OR- Combination of education and
Experience:
Courses equivalent to a major, as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. - AND - Minimum

To qualify for this position you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
FOR THE GS-09:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience include all of the following:
(1) Supporting economic studies that are planned in collaboration with other economists, (2) interpret economic data analyses including non-market valuation, input/output modeling, and econometric modeling, (3) synthesize and summarize economic tools and reference materials to assist parks and their stakeholders to understand economic data, methods and approaches, analyses, and results (4) providing technical input into the maintenance of the economic databases to receive, manage, and develop the economic deliverable for multiple surveyed parks, and (5) Support technical assistance to park managers and interested external stakeholders in the use and interpretation of socioeconomic information. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least two years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree. You must include transcripts. FOR THE GS-11:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience include all of the following:
(1) Experience with carrying out discrete economic studies that are planned in collaboration with other economists, (2) conducting economic data analyses including nonmarket valuation, input/output modeling, and econometric modeling, (3) generate economic tools and reference materials to assist parks and their stakeholders to understand economic data, methods and approaches, analyses, and results (4) maintain the economic databases to receive, manage, and develop the economic deliverables for multiple surveyed parks, and (5) Providing technical assistance to park managers and interested external stakeholders in the use and interpretation of socioeconomic information. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
