Information Technology Specialist

The major duties of this position include:
Assist a team of IT senior information technology specialists to provide security compliance implementation and guidance for assigned tasks to the CEC organization and its customers to assure established best practice tenets of information security are adequately and effectively integrated into all facets the organization to include:
Identification; Authentication; Access Control; Confidentiality; Integrity; Availability; Non-repudiation; and Auditing. Provide IT security compliance expertise and support to CEC and its customers. Ensure the protection and management of CEC systems and data in relations to confidentiality, integrity, and availability when responding to internal and external customer needs and requirements. Assume responsibility for assisting in the development of the IT security compliance processes and procedures, as assigned. Participate in the research, development and maintenance of security policies. Provide timely and accurate delivery and reporting of assigned policy-related tasks. You must meet eligibility and qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience for GS-12:
To qualify at GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. For this position specialized experience is defined as:
Performing administrative Information Technology (IT) services which involves developing, implementing, and maintaining information systems security, security policies and procedures including disaster recovery and contingency plans according to the USDA Risk Management Framework, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-37, the Cyber Security Framework and other applicable federal laws, regulations and guidelines. Examples of such experience may include:
- Evaluating and updating technical information in IT security disaster recovery plans and contingency plans and/or other IT security compliance documentation; - Experience developing and/or evaluating information technology security remediation action plans for information systems and disaster recovery after action reports; - Experience developing and/or evaluating business impact analysis; - Participating as a member of a team ensuring information technology security compliance concerns, disaster recovery and contingency planning are given due consideration; - Supporting a team with a variety of information technology security analysis, disaster recovery and contingency planning analysis. In addition to meeting specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
