System Operator

Responsibilities:
Monitors and utilizes the SCADA and OMS systems to analyze, predict outage conditions and direct outage restorations and operations on the distribution system. Operates remote devices using SCADA to restore service, place hot line tags, and improve overall system operations.
Prepares, schedules and coordinates switching orders for distribution lines as well as to energize and de-energize substations. Provide line crews direction for switching, service restoration and daily operations of the distribution system.
Manages and updates outage information on the OMS system. Provides monthly reliability analysis and reporting. Updates the OMS connectivity model through restoration and planned switching procedures to maintain a real time model of the distribution system.
Directs the service crews and cable locators in their daily activities and coordinates acquisition of underground locates for construction and maintenance purposes.
Assists in the acquisition and maintenance of records for circuit loading, phase balancing and voltage surveys on the electric system.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED is required. Some college or business school is preferred.
At least four years of relevant experience at an electric utility or related business performing duties with OMS, Mobile Work Force, Command Center and SCADA is preferred.
Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and other Microsoft office programs. Previous work experience using OMS, Mobile Work Force, Command Center and SCADA is preferred. Knowledge of reading system one-line diagrams, electrical terminology, grammar and proofreading, and general office skills is necessary.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
