POSITION
Summary:
Advanced Energy is looking for an Engineer II to join our Regression Test Engineering team in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Working within and supporting an Agile software development process, this Engineer will design, develop, test, and implement automated firmware tests for high frequency and high voltage systems to ensure high quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing, ensuring designs, and performing regression tests of high frequency, high voltage power converters and DC power converters for DC and Pulsed DC applications.
Responsible for supporting Test Engineering efforts in the design and analysis of new and existing automation test processes and quality goals.
Develops Python tests in a structured environment capable of running in an automated DevOps environment.
Develops mathematics model and iterative algorithms for test coverage of both positive and negative results.
Assists Development Engineers in diagnosing issues with design, field performance, reliability and test yields of products and recommends/implements corrective actions to address.
Qualifications:
Proven ability to use professional concepts appropriate to software engineering, including analytical methods, object-oriented programming, computer aided design tools, test equipment, lab skills appropriate to test.
Advanced working knowledge of Python software programming languages.
Knowledge of C, C++.
Ability to function within an environment where general instructions on routine work is received.
Knowledge of DevOps tools such as containers, pipelines, databases.
Ability to solve complex technical problems with minimal assistance.
Good verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Regularly working in lab, office and manufacturing facilities with power output up to 60 kW.
Travel to international manufacturing and/or development locations may be required throughout the product's lifecycle.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years related experience in automated test development with Python programming.
Related experience in the use of DevOps tools, Git, BitBucket, BitBucket Pipelines, Containers, etc.
Experience in test development of embedded systems a plus.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in engineering requiredCOMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting.
Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
The range of starting pay for this role is $75,000 to $95,000 per year.
